Dear Founder Member
It is now time for you to renew your subscription to BAFF. Before you pay your £30 or £20 you might like to know exactly what we have been doing on your behalf since the launch of BAFF in December 2006.
We have been involved in quite a few campaigns on behalf of service personnel including:
1. Single Living accommodation (SLA)
2. Service Family accommodation (SFA)
3. SSAFA's proposal to purchase a large house to provide a temporary 'home from home' for family members of in-patients receiving rehabilitation at DMRC Headley Court.
4. Medical care for the armed forces and families - evidence to House of Commons Defence Committee – DMRC Selly Oak, Birmingham
5. The new MOD Gagging Order
6. Military Inquests, and legal aid for bereaved service families
7. Fairer social housing rules for service personnel leaving the armed forces
8. The Military Covenant
9. Iraqi interpreters who have worked for British forces
10. Priority medical treatment for veterans
We have campaigned at the highest level including petitions to the Prime Minister; questions in Parliament; letters to the newspapers; numerous appearances of executive members on TV and the radio; and even a speech by an executive member on the ‘Broken Covenant’ at the recent Lib Dem Conference.
In order to continue our campaigns to improve conditions for service personnel and their families we need your support for another year so please renew your membership as soon as possible.
yours sincerely
Richard Bartle
