Employment Tribunal claims by armed forces personnel

If you are a member of the Armed Forces and think you may have been discriminated against whilst in service, BAFF's solicitors Russell Jones & Walker may be able to help you.

Serving members of the Armed Forces are able to advance complaints in respect of certain discrimination claims.  However, special rules apply to members of the Armed Forces in respect of bringing such claims.

Before a member of the Armed Forces can bring a claim they must complete a Service Redress Complaint.  Russell Jones & Walker can advise you in respect of how to raise a Service Redress Complaint and can also help you draft your complaint... Service Complaints Commissioner

The new post of Service Complaints Commissioner was created by the Armed Forces Act 2006 with a remit which covers any complaint made after 1 January 2008. It follows recommendations made by Nicholas Blake QC in his Review into the deaths of four soldiers at Princess Royal Barracks, Deepcut. The Service Complaints Commissioner's role is to provide a rigorous and independent oversight of how the complaints system is working and to report back to Ministers and to Parliament

The Commissioner also provides an alternative point of contact for Service personnel, or someone acting on their behalf, such as a member of their family, a friend or MP to raise concerns. How to complain to the Service Complaints Commissioner.
